Pocket FM remains the primary growth driver for the company. Revenue retention on the audio entertainment platform has risen from 44% to 76%, while listeners now spend an average of 155 minutes a day on the platform.
Pocket Entertainment, the parent company of Pocket FM and Pocket Saga, has crossed a $500 million Revenue Run Rate (ARR), registering 70% year-on-year growth, the company announced on September 11. The milestone comes as the entertainment platform expands the use of <a href="https://axiomcore.info/could-artificial-intelligence-help-with-early-diagnosis-of-schizophrenia/" title="Could Artificial Intelligence Help With Early Diagnosis of Schizophrenia?”>artificial intelligence across content creation, production, personalisation and distribution.
Pocket FM remains the primary growth driver for the company. Revenue retention on the audio entertainment platform has risen from 44% to 76%, while listeners now spend an average of 155 minutes a day on the platform. According to the company, 51% of its weekly active users engage with the platform daily.
The company said its creator ecosystem now comprises more than 550,000 creators and generates over 2.6 million annualised hours of content. Its content library has expanded to more than 770,000 titles across eight categories.
AI is also being used to accelerate the expansion of content and intellectual property across markets. Pocket Entertainment said the technology has reduced the time required to launch in a new market from approximately 12 months to two months, enabling content to be localised and distributed across languages and geographies at a faster pace.
The company has expanded Pocket FM into the UK, Germany and France over the past year and broadened its catalogue across genres such as thriller and fantasy. It has also introduced user-generated content in the US. Its licensing and adaptation partnerships have added to the catalogue, including a collaboration with Disney Publishing APAC that brought 36 Marvel audio series episodes to Hindi-language listeners.
The scale of the platform is also reflected in the performance of individual titles. Pocket Entertainment said 96 titles have generated more than $1 million in revenue each, with 13 of those titles crossing $10 million.
The company’s latest milestone comes against the backdrop of Pocket FM’s expansion from an India-focused audio storytelling platform into a global serialized entertainment business. Founded in India in 2018 by Rohan Nayak, Nishanth KS and Prateek Dixit, Pocket Entertainment has built its model around combining human-led storytelling with AI-enabled content creation, localisation, production and distribution.
Pocket FM currently has more than 250 million listeners across more than 20 countries. The company said its platform enables its creator base to develop stories, produce audio, adapt content across languages and scale successful intellectual property for international audiences.
Pocket Entertainment also operates Pocket Saga, its AI microdrama platform. The company is headquartered in Bengaluru and Culver City, California, with offices in San Francisco, Berlin and Mumbai.
