INS is set for a change at the top, with Lokmat executive director and editorial director Karan Rajendra Darda next in line to become president, according to industryard
Darda has been an executive director of the company and has been on its board since April 2009. He is involved in the group’s operations and circulation functions and has worked on marketing initiatives. He is also credited with conceptualising and implementing the Aurangabad Premier League for cricket and the Kolhapur Premier League for football, creating new opportunities for the group in sports.
Darda holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Mumbai University and an MBA from Pace University, New York.
An industryalthough the formal decision is expected to be taken at the INS Executive Committee meeting later in the day
Darda will be taking over the post of president from Vivek Gupta of Sanmarg.
The expected transition comes as the newspaper industry navigates a softer advertising environment, with INS members reporting a decline in overall advertising business in 2025 even as direct advertising and English-language dailies posted growth.
